Prof. Madhuri Kulkarni is presently working as an Honorary
Senior Consultant Pediatrician, Mumbai Port Trust Hospital, Mumbai.
Since 1998 Dr. Kulkarni has been a Founder Trustee of the
Child Welfare Trust at Bhuj and is a consultant Pediatrician attached to the
Dhanvantri School for Special Children run by the Trust.

Dr. Madhuri Kulkarni superannuated as a Professor and Head,
Department of Pediatrics, from

Medical College & L.T.M.
General
Hospital, Mumbai in 2008. She completed her
medical graduation and post graduation in Pediatrics at
Seth G.
S. Medical College, Mumbai and began her teaching career as a lecturer in
Pediatrics at T.N. Medical College and subsequently worked as Associate
Professor, Professor, Head of Department, and Dean In-charge at L.T.M. Medical
College and General Hospital, Mumbai.

At L.T.M.G. Hospital, Dr. Kulkarni started the Early
Intervention Clinic for developmentally subnormal children in 1985, the
Pediatric Neurology Clinic in 1992, and the Learning Disability Clinic in 1995.
This multi-disciplinary clinic has been the first clinic in Maharashtra
authorized to certify children with learning disability for availing provisions
since its inception. In 1996 the Govt. of Maharashtra published a Resolution to
grant provovisions at IX and X std. The Department of Education and the
Education Board of Maharashtra recognised the L.D. Clinic at L.T.M.G. Hospital
for assessment and certification of children with Learning Disabilities. After
its inception the Team at L.T.M.G.H. under the guidance of Dr. Madhuri Kulkarni
conducted several awareness programs for school teachers, psychologists,
counselers, general practitioners and Pediatricians in different parts of the
country. The program got momentum in Maharashtra, Gujrat and Goa where the
children with Specific Learning Disability started getting provisions from Std I
to XII and at the University courses. This disability has now been recognized at
the National level.

Dr. Kulkarni was awarded “Top Ten Women of The City’ award by
the Junior Chamber International-India Zone XI Mumbai in 2009. In 2011 she was
awarded ‘Samaj Shakti Award’ in the field of Medicine by the Hariharputra Bhajan
Samaj, Mumbai. In March 2015 Dr. Kulkarni was awarded ‘Mahila Gaurav Purskar’ by
the Brahman Sabha Girgaon, Mumbai.

Ms Anita Chitre is presently working as a freelancer
clinical psychologist for various clinics in Mumbai.
She joined child welfare trust at bhuj in the year 2004. She is a
consultant psychologist attached to the Dhanvantrischool for special children
run by the trust.
She is aMphil in clinical psychology from post graduate institute of behavioral
and medical sciences, Raipur, session 2015-17. She has graduated with masters in
clinical psychology from university department of applied psychology, Mumbai in
the year 1999. She has done foundation course in special education through Bhoj
University, affiliated by Rehabilitation council of India in 2008. She is
certified with rehabilitation council of India as Rehabilitation and clinical
psychologist.

She worked as a psychologist with learning disability clinic, LTMG
hospital-Sion, Mumbai from 2001 to 2010.She has contributed to diagnosis and
certification of children with learning disability through her assessment work.
As a member of the team, she has conducted several awareness program for
learning disability throughout the country. She worked with spandan holistic
center, Barvalia foundation as a senior psychologistfrom 2010 to 2015. She was
mainly involved in assessment for children with autism and learning problems.
She has participated in periodic medical camps, workshops conducted by the
organization. Over the years, she has supervised and trained psychologist in
administering various psychometric tests. She has supervised projects run by the
institute funded by Ayush, Ministry of health and family.She works as a
consultant psychologist at Mann clinic, Bandra since 2002. She has gained
expertise in clinical assessment of young adults and adults with varied
psychological concern. She has also worked as art therapist for patients in the
day care unit run by the center.

Neelam Sarda
hails from Jamnagar and is a renowned Audiologist & Speech Pathologist. She
started practice when Speech Therapy was little known in Gujarat and has been
instrumental in creating awareness & understanding amongst parents, teachers &
community as a whole
She has continued to support special education endeavours in varied places with
her expertise & insights

Meena Shiledar gave up her 17 year banking and
economics career to obtain a Masters Degree in Psychology. Since then she has
spent close to 18 years working as a Counseling Psychologist at the Learning
Disability Clinic of government aided institutions like Learning Disability
Clinic, Department of Paediatrics, LTMG Sion Hospital and Seth G.S. Medical
College and K.E.M. Hospital, Mumbai, India and Dementia Clinic Project at
Psychiatry Dept. L.T.M.G Hospital, Sion Mumbai, India.
In her career she has had an opportunity to guide, counsel and assist
thousands of young, aspiring and special children.

She has conducted close to around 350 training programs and has been a
part of close to 100 television shows on behavioural sciences and social
awareness.
She has worked as a counsellor in various institutions including
Shradhhanand Mahila Ashram Mumbai.
She also received appreciation on writing a counselling book in vernacular
language in 2014. This was the first book in Marathi addressing these issues.
She has written many articles in news papers regarding mental health.
She has presented her work through two research papers in “International
Psychology of Congress” in Beijing,China and “International Congress of
Paediatrics” in Melbourne, Australia.
She has invited by Karolinska Institutet Center of Neurodevelopmental
Disorders(KIND) and ICF Research Branch, a cooperation partner within the WHO
Collaborating Center invited for preparing ICF Core Sets for Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) at Stockholm-Sweden in Sept. 2016
As a token of appreciation, she has been awarded the Mahila Gaurav
Puraskar (Women's Pride Award).
She is extremely passionate about playing her part in holistic development
and guiding towards a better, deserving life and finer prospects of special
children.
